The new Samsung PM830 mSATA SSD will offer SATA 6Gb/s transfer speeds, listed as 500MB/s read and 260MB/s write sequential. A smaller 32GB model will also be available for caching environments. The 20nm NAND specified is DDR toggle memory, which generally leans towards the high-performance category in most SSDs that it is found in. The drives will also support AES-256bit encryption, which is used in many business environments to prevent data from being stolen if a notebook is lost or taken. Pricing has not been announced, nor when the mSATA SSDs will hit the market.
