For the second time in a week, we’re seeing a new 12x read Blu-ray drive. This time it’s Samsung, with their SH-B123.
Aside from reliable Blu-ray playback thanks to a two lens and two laser diode structure, the drive includes HD upscaling, technology that improves the read ability for damaged or uneven disks, and optimized position control for the optical pick-up feature. Samsung also includes an automatic firmware update tool to make sure the drive is always up to date.
If design is important to you, Samsung wants you to consider their "edgier look." The drive has a blue LED on the front and a mirrored front door for a modern look.
Availability
The Samsung SH-B123 will be available in July, pricing has not been announced.
