SandForce Inc. today announced it has shipped more than one million of its SF-1200 and SF-1500 processors since they entered production in 2010.

An estimated 100 petabytes of NAND flash storage were shipped using SandForce processors. The company is planning to continue its trend with its recently-released SandForce SF-2000 series processors. The SF-2000 series processors will feature a 6Gbps SATA III interface and doubled read/write performance.

Michael Raam, president and CEO for SandForce, said "SSD manufacturers building products for enterprise, client, and industrial, applications are using SandForce SSD Processors with the unique DuraClass™ technology to bring out solutions that outperform the competition and meet or exceed the needs of each of these market segments. We anticipate our shipment volumes to increase by several multiples as the value proposition of SSDs based on our technology further proliferate into the mainstream market."

SandForce says it signed up 27 SSD manufacturers and system vendors through its SandForce Driven program, which allows the manufacturers to brand their products with the SandForce logo.
