SanDisk introduced its latest flash memory storage products at Computex Taipei including the G4 and P4 SSDs, available in capacities up to 256GB.
All of the announced SSDs use 32nm MLC process technology.

SanDisk SSD G4

The G4 SSD is offered in capacities of 64GB to 256GB. Read and write speeds are claimed to be 220MB/s and 160MB/s, respectively. SanDisk says the drive is designed for long endurance and should last for 10 years of PC usage. The G4 features a Page-based algorithm for improved performance and endurance, increasing random write speeds and efficiency.
The G4 will be available in customized form factors for OEMs.

SanDisk SSD P4

The P4 SSD is offered in capacities of 8GB to 128GB and is designed for small devices; it has dimensions of 26.80 x 30.00 x 3.4mm and is the company’s smallest SSD. The P4 features SanDisk’s AFM implementation with nCache acceleration, a large non-volatile write cache technology that boosts burst random write performance to increase system responsiveness.
The P4 is designed for use in netbooks, smartbooks, nettops, tablet PCs, and ultra-thin notebooks.

Availability
The P4 and G4 SSDs are being evaluated by OEMs; volume production is expected in Q3 2010. Pricing has not been announced and will depend on the quantity ordered.
