Acer has selected the 32GB SanDisk SSD P4 modular solid state drive for use in its Iconia Tab Windows 7 tablet. The SSD met Acer’s requirements for a small, lower-power storage device.

The Acer Iconia tablet features a 10.1-inch screen, runs on an AMD platform, has WiFi and 3G, and features a docking station with a physical keyboard.

The SanDisk P4 SSD features an industry-standard mSATA interface. It weighs less than 6.0 grams and measures 30 x 50.95 x 3.4mm. Its small size combined with the low power consumption of just 0.18W make it an ideal choice for the tablet.

The SanDisk P4 is available OEM with sizes ranging from 4GB – 128GB in a variety of form factors including mSATA mini. The P4 features SanDisk’s AFM implementation with nCache acceleration, a large non-volatile write cache technology that boosts burst random write performance to increase system responsiveness.
