SanDisk has announced two new SSD offerings, the SanDisk SSD Plus, which is a 2.5” entry-level drive, and the SanDisk Ultra II mSATA SSD, which is a new form factor for the SanDisk Ultra II SSD product line. The target demographic of the SanDisk SSD Plus is laptop and desktop PC users who want to improve system performance while the SanDisk Ultra II mSATA SSDs are catered towards laptop and tablet users looking to increase the capacity and overall performance of their mSATA-enabled systems. Both of these two new storage solutions will be unveiled at the 2015 International Consumer Electronics Show.

The SanDisk SSD Plus and SanDisk Ultra II mSATA SSD include a downloadable SanDisk SSD Dashboard application, which offers users management tools including drive performance and health monitoring, manual or scheduled TRIM, notifications for firmware updates, and tips on how to maintain the drive at its peak operation. The SSD Dashboard also includes applications such as the Apricorn EZ Gig IV cloning software to helps users in transferring their data to the new SSD, the TrendMicro Titanium antivirus software to keep data safe, and the Absolute Lojack software to recover their laptop if it becomes lost.
SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0
SanDisk has also announced the availability of the Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0, which is equipped with both a micro-USB and a high-speed USB 3.0 connector for fast file transfers between On The Go (OTG)-enabled Android devices, PC, and Mac computers. The new SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 allows users to transfer their files at very fast rates and free up space on their smartphones and tablets. The drive adds 64GB of removable space by connecting via the micro-USB to a compatible Android device. In addition, the new SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 has a slick retractable design for easy usability, as well as a longer micro-USB connector to accommodate device cases or port covers. Performance-wise, the flash drive USB 3.0 performance is quoted to deliver up to 130MB/s.
SanDisk also works with their free Memory Zone app, which allows users to easily locate, organize, transfer and back up data. When the new SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 is connected, the Memory Zone app auto-launches, giving users the ability to manage and transfer content between their mobile device and the drive.
Pricing and Availability
The SanDisk SSD Plus will be available in Q1 2015 in a 2.5” form factor at capacities of 120GB ($69.99) and 240GB ($109.99). The SanDisk Ultra II mSATA SSD also be available in Q1 2015 in select regions and in capacities of 128GB ($73.99), 256GB ($115.99) and 512GB ($220.99). All drives come with a 3-year warranty.
The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Drive 3.0 is now available worldwide in 16GB ($12), 32GB ($19), and 64GB ($30) capacities, inclusive of a 5-year warranty.
