Scality is expanding its horizons by introducing its first hardware appliance. This significant move aligns with its vision of offering customers freedom of choice and sustainable, cost-effective storage solutions. This new venture begins with ARTESCA, Scality’s endeavor to democratize S3 object storage with a user-friendly and affordable solution.
ARTESCA has quickly become a preferred backup target for mid-to-large enterprises thanks to its robust, ransomware-proof features that are fast to deploy and easy to manage. The latest version, ARTESCA 2.0, enhances these cyber-resiliency capabilities, making it an even more formidable tool against digital threats.
The new ARTESCA appliances are engineered for seamless integration with Veeam V12 Backup and Replication, providing a plug-and-play experience that simplifies deployment. They have features like a one-click installer with a pre-configured Veeam profile, pre-set security policies, and optimized storage performance. This meticulous engineering ensures peak performance specifically for Veeam V12’s immutable backup and recovery.
Veeam Software Data Platform V12 brings significant advancements, including support for direct-to-object backups and an extended Smart Object Storage API. It also enhances ransomware protection by leveraging object storage’s intrinsic immutability, setting data retention policies, and enabling a tamper-proof compliance mode. The synergy between Veeam V12 and ARTESCA creates a cutting-edge solution for ransomware protection in backup data.
Scality’s focus on simplicity and cybersecurity is evident in ARTESCA’s design. While offering flexibility in hardware choice, the software-defined storage solution also requires additional deployment steps. ARTESCA addresses this by providing a streamlined deployment process and intuitive management interfaces. The ARTESCA 2.0 launch introduces the start of Scality’s appliance product family, which includes a software appliance with a security-hardened Linux OS, a virtual appliance for VMware environments, and now, the new hardware appliance.
