The strengthen partnership will integrate engineering strategies and deepen go-to-market collaboration.
The Internet of Things (IoT) is continuing to grow at a tremendous rate, outgrowing the performance and scalability of several legacy NAS solutions. Organizations are looking for ways to take advantage of the IoT but need a new way to store and analyze the data that it generates. Companies need a new compute infrastructure and ultra-dense compute nodes that don’t need a lot of space to store tons of data. In order to achieve these goals customers are looking toward partnerships such as Scality and HPE.
The initial announcement referenced above was the combination of Scality RING software with HPE Apollo 4000 and ProLiant servers. Today’s announcement sees Scality RING being paried with the hyperscale HPE Apollo 4510 and HPE Apollo 4200. This pairing sees a solution for petabyte-scale object applications. One rack of the new solution will have 5PB of capacity or 224TB in a 2U space. Today also marks the strategic equity investment in Scality by Hewlett Packard Ventures as an addition to Series D.
Today’s announcement finishes off a busy year for Scality, which has partnered with Dell and HPE. Through these partnerships with Dell and HP, Scality claims that more than 50% of the server market is reselling its RING software, now in version 5.0. To further expand interest in its RING software, Scality also released a free trial earlier this year.
