The GoFlex for Mac external drive line includes:
- GoFlex for Mac ultra-portable drive: 2.5" form factor, designed for use with Time Machine. MSRP $199.99 for 1TB, $249.99 for 1.5TB.
- GoFlex for Mac Limited Edition ultra-portable drive: 2.5" form factor w/ 1TB capacity; the slimmest high-capacity drive available. MSRP $199.95 for 1TB.
- GoFlex Pro for Mac ultra-portable: 2.5" form factor; high-performance 7200RPM spindle speed. MSRP $149.99 for 500GB, $179.99 for 750GB.
- GoFlex Desk for Mac drive: 3.5" form factor; can sit horizontally or vertically on a desk. MSRP $219.99 for 2TB, $279.99 for 3TB.
Each GoFlex for Mac is HFS+ formatted out of the box, making them compatible with Apple Time Machine backup software; they are also compatible with Windows with a driver from Seagate.
The 2.5" ultra-portable drives feature a durable, soft-touch, metallic finish.
The GoFlex drives come with FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 adapters and cables and has the ability to accept eSATA and USB 3.0 for Windows computers. Each drive can be used with other GoFlex devices including Seagate’s GoFlex net media sharing device and the GoFlex TV HD media player.

The GoFlex for Mac drives are available now and come with a three-year limited warranty.
GoFlex For Third Party Manufacturers
Seagate also announced a certified GoFlex storage system for third-party manufacturers. The program is designed to allow manufacturers to incorporate slots on their products to support removable GoFlex external hard drives.
GoFlex ultra-portable drives are standardized on the new SATA USM specification, allowing manufacturers to build GoFlex-certified products that support 2.5-inch hard drives.
Several electronics manufacturers including Antec, GIEC, Hi-Sense, Ionics, and Thermaltake are expected to unveil their Certified GoFlex Storage System concept products at CES 2011; the products include televisions, notebook and desktop computers, DVRs, and a docking station.
