GoFlex is Seagate’s latest-generation external hard drive. The drives feature a cable system that allows for multiple interface connections including USB 2.0, USB 3.0, eSATA, and FireWire 800.

The GoFlex drives are available in both desktop 3.5-inch and portable 2.5-inch form factors. There are several variations of the drive; some models include backup software with encryption, desktop stands, and various cables. The ultra-portable versions use 2.5-inch drives and are available in 320/500/750GB/1TB capacities, with prices ranging from $99.99 – $199.99.

The Desk drives use 3.5-inch desktop hard drives and are available in 1 and 2TB capacities; prices range from $129.99 – $199.99.

Seagate has two add-ons for the GoFlex series; the first is the GoFlex TV HD media player ($129.99). The media player is a dock a GoFlex hard drive can be plugged into for viewing on a TV. The media player can be connected to the Internet using an Ethernet cable or optional Wi-Fi adapter. The second add-on is the GoFlex Net media sharing device ($99.99); it transforms any USB storage device into a network-accessible device.

The GoFlex drives include an NTFS driver for Mac OS X, making Windows-formatted drives accessible on Mac.
The Seagate GoFlex drives are available in 250GB – 2TB capacity.

The cables and adapters are sold separately; prices for cables range from $19.99 – $79.99.
