On the entry-level front, Seagate recently announced its low-profile Barracuda ST3250x10AS series, units that utilize ever-maturing perpendicular magnetic recording technology to achieve a 250-gigabyte capacity through the use of a single platter.
Seagate goes on to mention that these platters will form the basis for a yet-to-be-announced terabyte unit.
As usual, SR readers have already been discussing the drive for a few days before the announcement.
