Seagate today announced its Barracuda Green hard drive, which they claim is the industry’s highest performance eco-friendly hard disk with a 3.5 inch form factor. The Barracuda Green was formerly called the Barracuda LP.
The Green has a 5900RPM spindle speed, 64MB cache, 6Gbp/s SATA interface, and uses the new 4k Advanced Format sectors. It is shipping now to distribution channels worldwide in 2TB, 1.5TB, and 1TB capacities. Pricing information has not been announced.
