Seagate has announced their TV Remote application has been approved by Apple and is now available from the iTunes Store. The iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch application enables control of a GoFlex TV or FreeAgent Theater+ from the home WiFi network. The interface is similar to the remote that comes with the media players and because it’s used over WiFi, the remote does not need a clear line of sight to the media player.

With the TV Remote app, users can see a display of all the files stored on the external hard drives connected to GoFlex TV or FreeAgent Theater+ HD media players. They can also send photos from the Apple device over the network to the drive attached to the media player. The TV Remote app can work with multiple Seagate media units, auto detecting all compatible units on the network.
To use of the application, owners of the GoFlex TV HD or FreeAgent Theater+ will need to download the latest firmware for these devices.
