Today SolarWinds announced support for even more solutions and arrays to its SolarWinds Storage Resource Monitor (SRM). SolarWinds has added support for EMC XtremIO and Pure Storage all-flash arrays (AFAs). As we previous said, SRM enables admins to view and manage all of their storage arrays through a single-pane-of-glass. With SRM admins can monitor system performance of the various arrays and pinpoint hot spots or bottlenecks. Admins can setup alerts for various aspects of their system. And they will be able to better setup capacity planning knowing what is available and how it is performing. All of the panels are highly customizable as are the alerts, so admins can set them up to best fit the organization they work in. Admins can now use the above capabilities to maximize performance of the newly supported arrays as well as maximizing performance of a multi-generational storage environment with SRM.
SolarWinds SRM also has the ability to integrate with its Orion platform. The SolarWinds Orion platform allows storage performance data collected to be incorporated with data from SolarWinds Server & Application Monitor, SolarWinds Virtualization Manager and SolarWinds Database Performance Analyzer into the platform’s AppStack environment view. This gives IT an in-depth look into its application infrastructure and in turn can help them troubleshoot issues better. SolarWinds states that these abilities give IT the ability to view and manage an IT environment from array to application.
