Cloud based file management solution producer Syncplicity, announced today the release of a new security and compliance console, which will bring enterprise class control features to file management in the cloud. The new console adds a lot of functionality, including centralized control over devices, enforcement options for data retention policies, remote wipe capabilities, and scalable two-step user login.

Centralized control over workstations and mobile devices lets users synch or access data; security is no problem, though, on account of easy data retention options and the ability to remotely wipe any workstation, device, or user account. Scalability should be no concern, as the new console offers native single factor authentication against SAML or OpenID providers, so it will play well with OneLogin or Google Apps, plus optional 2 factor authentication and single-on. Users get their own little secure cloud, which updates changes across the network, so users don’t have to worry about syncing.

Syncplicity wanted to make data management easier without sacrificing security. With all the functionality and security features, they may have hit the nail on the head.
