Synology Announces New DiskStation DS413 4-Bay NAS

Synology today announced the launch of an updated DS413 with hardware enhancements and DiskStation Manager (DSM) 4.1. The DS413 is a 4-bay network attached storage (NAS) device that features hot-swappable storage, hardware assisted 256-bit AES encryption, and 1GB DDR3 memory, double the amount of the previous version.

The DS413 is a 4-bay network attached storage (NAS) device that features hot-swappable storage, hardware assisted 256-bit AES encryption, and 1GB DDR3 memory, double the amount of the previous version.

These updates focus on small business applications, and keep the DS413 performing at a competitive level in the small business and small home office markets. Updates to the DS413 include a new case design for better cooling and an updated version of Synology’s DiskStation Manager, which powers a variety of functionality for DiskStation devices. The DS413 now features:

  • Up to 5GB of synchronized storage via Cloud Station
  • QuickConnect for direct download links without port forwarding
  • VPN server and client create secure connections between networks
  • Shared folder sync between DiskStation devices
  • Power consumption of less than 4 watts in hibernation
