Today Synology launched two new RackStations, the RS815+ and the RS815RP+, as well as a new DiskStation, the DS2415+. These new additions to Synology’s lineup are aimed at small to medium businesses that are set to grow.

All three of the new NAS servers run Synology’s award-winning OS, DiskStation Manager (with its wide range of applications), feature 2.4GHz quad-core processors with AES New Instructions encryption engine, a RAM module that is expandable to 6GB, four Gigabit LAN ports supporting Link aggregation and failover, and the three models support Synology High availability. All three models are expandable to 8 and 24 bays using Synology’s RX415 and DX1215. The RS815RP+ comes equipped with a redundant power (RP) supply.

The above hardware gives the NAS servers some impressive speeds. The RS815+ and the RS815RP+ can achieve read speeds up to 389MB/s (388MB/s for encrypted). The DS2415+ delivers up to 451MB/s read speed for both regular and encrypted files. The devices have SSD read/write cache support to add an additional boost in throughput. All three devices can be integrated into a business’s virtualized environment (the new line is certified by VMware, Citric, and Microsoft Hyper-V). And the devices can act as a central storage for growing businesses.
