The UC3400 supports Fibre Channel and iSCSI, allowing for versatile deployment options and seamless integration with existing storage infrastructure. Its active-active dual controller design ensures zero downtime even in the event of a controller failure; this is due to interconnectivity through a high-speed Non-Transparent Bridge (NTB) between the two controllers.
Moreover, the UC3400 is equipped with hot-swappable dual power supplies, providing redundancy and preventing service interruptions in case of a power supply failure. These features contribute to the UC3400’s robustness and resilience in meeting the demands of enterprise storage environments.

The Synology SA3400D is designed to offer significant value for organizations of all sizes by combining reliability and efficiency in a compact system while supporting a high-availability active-passive architecture. This enables quick failover times (under a minute), minimizing service downtime.
The Synology SA3400D also offers a range of advanced features to enhance its performance and scalability. With hot-swappable dual power supplies, the SA3400D minimizes the risk of hardware failure and ensures uninterrupted operation. It is also equipped with two 1GbE RJ-45 ports and a 10GbE RJ-45 port per controller, simplifying the task of integrating into existing high-speed networks. Additionally, the system supports a PCIe 3.0 expansion slot per controller, enabling compatibility with 10/25GbE and Fibre Channel cards. This is ideal for bandwidth-intensive applications.
Its twelve bays for 3.5″/2.5″ SAS drives can be expanded to 36 bays by adding two Synology RXD1219sas Expansion Units. Users can also leverage hybrid storage arrays to combine SSD speed and HDD efficiency and designate SAS SSD volumes as read/write cache for HDD volumes to reduce I/O speeds and latency. These features make the SA3400D a versatile and powerful solution for demanding storage requirements.
