Coming off the announcement of raising $125 million dollars in funding, Tintri has unveiled several new updates and products, including the Tintri VMstoreTM T5000 All-Flash series, Tintri OS 4.0, Tintri Global Center (TGC) 2.1 and the Tintri VMstack Converged Infrastructure. The VMstore T5000 is the latest addition to the company’s portfolio of VM-aware storage platforms that offer enterprises and service providers the choice of storage, hypervisor and packaging. It will be powered by Tintri OS 4.0 as well as real time VM-level analytics, allowing customers to easily optimize virtualized workloads across the T5000.

Tintri’s T5000 and T800 are the market’s only solutions to offer real time, VM-level analytics. As a result, customers have the ability to recognize and then act on changes in VM performance and capacity use across their entire infrastructure and multiple hypervisors. These include VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, OpenStack or Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization.

The Tintri VMstore T5000 All-Flash series come in two different models: the VMstore T5060 and T5080. They can store upwards of 5,000 VMs in a 2U form factor and up to 100,000 VMs, 1.4PB of data, and 4 million IOPS in just a single rack. Both systems are specifically designed for very large database farms, analytics workloads, and large persistent virtual desktops that require predictable, high throughput and sub-millisecond latency across their entire multi-terabyte capacity.

The Tintri VMstack Converged Infrastructure is the first VM-aware converged solution, as it grants customers the choice of Hybrid-Flash or All-Flash storage, multiple hypervisors, compute and network. In addition, Tintri VMstack Partners will offer a range of pre-qualified integrated solutions:

  • Tintri VMstack for Server Virtualization: optimized for server virtualization based on VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or other Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization sized for typical virtualized server applications.
  • Tintri VMstack for VDI: optimized for VDI, based on VMware Horizon with View or Citrix XenDesktop running on supported hypervisor platforms, sized for various user counts and concurrent desktop use.
  • Tintri VMstack for Private Cloud: optimized for private clouds based on VMware vRealize Suite, or OpenStack and sized for large numbers of dynamic workloads with a high rate of change.

Also announced by the company is the latest update to Tintri Global Center (TGC), which manages and provides actionable real-time VM-level analytics for more than 100,000 virtual machines. With version 2.1, Trintri indicates that it will further extend its seamless management and analytics capabilities to mixed Tintri VMstore All-Flash and Hybrid-Flash environments. The company also added that it can effortlessly transfer and retain the same service group settings when a VM is moved to another VMstore.
