Today ahead of VMworld Europe 2015, Tintri Inc. announced two upcoming releases that will further expand VMware customer support, the Tintri vCenter Web Client Plugin 2.0 and the Tintri Management Pack for VMware vRealize Operations (VROps). These announcements further build on Tintri’s deep integration and partnership with VMware.
Tintri already provides a native UI for managing storage operations such as cloning, snapshots and replication at the VM level. Tintri’s new vCenter Web Client Plugin 2.0 enables these operations to be initiated and monitored through the native vCenter Web Client for added productivity. In other words, customers can keep using the vSphere Web Client interfaces they are familiar with while administrators have access to Tintri VM-aware storage features. New features include:
- Granular role-based access controls (RBAC), allowing administrators to assign rights to perform Tintri commands to certain users and groups
- Support for Tintri VM-level quality-of-service (QoS)
- Support for Tintri SyncVM for snapshot-based recovery and updates
Tintri’s Management Pack for VMware vRealize Operations 6.0 gives users Tintri VM-level storage statistics, including Tintri’s real-time VM-level analytics for every VM on the system. This enables administrators to see trends and gain insights that will help them troubleshoot issues as they arise. The new update provides support for vRealize Operations 6—including both 6.0 and 6.1.
The above announcements along with the Tintri VMstore T5000 All-Flash and T800 Hybrid-Flash series VM-aware storage will be demonstrated at VMworld Europe in Barcelona, Spain on October 12-15. Tintri is a Platinum Sponsor at VMworld and will be exhibiting at Booth P307.
Availability
The Tintri vSphere Web Client Plugin 2.0 and the Tintri Management Pack for vRealize Operations are expected to be available within the next month. Both will be available to download from the Tintri Support site and will be free to existing Tintri VMstore customers with a support contract.
