Toshiba has announced the new 10TB MG06 Series Enterprise Capacity HDD model line-up, a 25 percent capacity increase compared to prior generations. The new MG06 series allows models to be delivered at multiple capacity points meaning better capacity refresh qualification cycles for OEMs/ODMs infrastructure builders, cloud solution providers, and system integrators. Toshiba’s new line-up also refreshes the 6TB and 8TB capacities.
Toshiba has announced the new 10TB MG06 Series Enterprise Capacity HDD model line-up, a 25 percent capacity increase compared to prior generations. The new MG06 series allows models to be delivered at multiple capacity points meaning better capacity refresh qualification cycles for OEMs/ODMs infrastructure builders, cloud solution providers, and system integrators. Toshiba’s new line-up also refreshes the 6TB and 8TB capacities.
The 10TB MG06 Series features a SATA 6Gbit/s interface and 7,200 rpm and has been upgraded with a greater maximum sustained transfer rate of 237MiB/s, as well as a 25 percent increase in MTTF with a rating of 2.5M hours. The MG06 HDD series also supports emulated 512 Advanced Format (512e) technology for compatibility with legacy applications and operating environments; or 4K native sector technology for optimum performance in all-disk or hybrid storage platforms.
Toshiba has built the MG06 Series to cater to mid-line, nearline, and tier two business-critical server and storage system workloads such as including servers supporting application workloads that benefit from high capacity per spindle; capacity-optimized data center storage systems; and enterprise IT and data center servers. It supports workloads per HDD of up to 550TB total bytes written and read per year. In addition, all capacity models feature Toshiba’s Persistent Write Cache Technology for peak performance and enterprise-grade data reliability and feature power mode management capabilities that conform to HDD industry standards.
