Toshiba has launched their highest-capacity embedded NAND flash modules to date – 128GB. The module is designed for use in consumer products including smartphones, tablet PCs, and digital video cameras.
The 128GB device integrates 16 64Gbit (16x 8GB) NAND chips fabricated with 32nm technology. Toshiba will also offer a 64GB solution.
Samples will be available in September and mass production will start between Oct – Dec this year. Toshiba is hopeful that their latest embedded NAND offering will better position them against the likes of SanDisk (who currently supplies the embedded solution for Apple’s iPad) and other players in the space.
