Toshiba’s Digital Products Division has just announced its Canvio 3.0 and Canvio Basics 3.0 portable hard drives will now offer consumers up to 1.5TB of storage. One of the new models also offers integrated NTFS drivers, allowing complete interoperability between Windows and OS X without the need for reformatting or compromises to maximum file size.

Canvio 3.0 Overview
The Canvio 3.0 has a new internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology to safeguard against accidents and drops. Canvio 3.0 drives also come with bundled software that provides file, folder and full system back-up and recovery. It also offers a 30-day trial for Toshiba’s cloud backup service.

The Canvio 1.5TB drive includes a new NTFS driver for Mac computers that allows users to connect to both Macs and PCs without having to reformat the drive or compromise on the ability to store large files, such as uncompressed video and backup volumes.

Canvio Basics 3.0 Overview
Canvio Basics 3.0 is Toshiba’s simplest external storage solution. There is no software setup necessary and the device is ready to use right out of the box. Canvio Basics 3.0 drives share the Canvio 3.0’s internal shock sensor and ramp loading technology to protect against accidental jolts.
