Toshiba has announced the world’s first 64GB SDXC flash memory card, also claiming the world’s fastest data transfer rate. Toshiba is also introducing 16/32GB SDHC cards with the same data transfer rate.
The new SDXC and SDHC cards are compliant with SD Memory Card Standard Version 3.00, UHS104, bringing faster data read/write speeds to NAND flash-based memory cards. The cards have maximum read and write speeds of 60MB/s and 35MB/s, respectively. A 2.4GB video can be transferred in just 70 seconds.
The new cards are expected to enter mass production in spring 2010.
