The StoreJet 25D3 is backwards-compatible with USB 2.0. The device has an internal hard drive suspension system that reportedly helps prevent damage to the hard drive in falls.
Transcend also introduced a StoreJet 25D2 model, which is USB 2.0-only. Both models come with Transcend’s StoreJet Elite software which has backup scheduling and 256-bit AES encryption.
The 25D3 will be available soon in a 500GB model while the 25D2 will be available in 250/320/500/640GB capacities. A three-year warranty is included. There is no word on pricing or a specific release date.
