TYAN has unveiled 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor-based server platforms. These new servers are highlighted by built-in accelerator support, which aims to improve performance across the fastest-growing workloads in AI, analytics, cloud, storage, and HPC.
Models include the servers in both the Tempest (high-performance server motherboards with advanced features) and Thunder (entry-level server motherboards) lines: Tempest CX S7136, Tempest HX S5652, Thunder HX TS75-B7132, Thunder HX TS75A-B7132, Thunder HX FT65T-B5652, Thunder SX TS70A-B7136, Thunder SX TS70-B7136, Thunder CX GC79A-B7132, Thunder CX GC68A-B7136.
Thunder HX FT65T-B5652
These platforms are purpose-built to accelerate performance for a range of workloads, such as High-Performance Computing, AI, and data analytics. For example, the 4U pedestal Thunder HX FT65T-B5652 is designed for smaller HPC workloads that need considerable computing power at the deskside (i.e., designed to be placed on or near a desk, as opposed to in a data center rack).
This system features a single 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processor, eight DDR5 DIMM slots, and four double-wide PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for GPU card deployment. It also can be outfitted with six 3.5-inch SATA, two NVMe U.2 hot-swap toolless drive bays, and an NVMe M.2 port for a high-performance boot drive.
Thunder HX TS75-B7132 and HX TS75A-B7132
The dual-socket 2U Thunder HX TS75-B7132 and Thunder HX TS75A-B7132 platforms support dual 4th Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors, 32 DDR5 DIMM slots, and five PCIe 5.0 slots that are ideal for high-performance in-memory computing and virtualization applications.
They also come equipped with two 10GbE or GbE onboard LAN, one OCP v3.0 LAN mezzanine slot, and two NVMe M.2 ports. The difference between the two platforms is that the TS75-B7132 offers eight 3.5-inch hot-swap toolless NVMe/SATA hybrid drive bays while the TS75A-B7132 supports ten 2.5-inch SATA and sixteen NVMe U.2 drive bays.
Thunder SX TS70-B7136 and SX TS70A-B7136
The 2U dual-socket Thunder SX TS70-B7136 and Thunder SX TS70A-B7136 are software-defined storage servers outfitted with 16 DDR5 DIMM slots, five PCIe 5.0 slots, one OCP v3.0 LAN mezzanine slot and two NVMe M.2 ports.
The TS70-B7136 is a high-capacity storage solution with twelve 3.5-inch SATA hot-swap tool-less drive bays that support up to four NVMe U.2 devices, and two rear 2.5-inch hot-swap tool-less SATA drive bays for boot drive deployment. The TS70A-B7136 is designed to offer high data I/O throughput from twenty 2.5-inch hot-swap toolless drive bays: ten SATA, eight NVMe U.2 front drive bays, and two rear-access SATA bays.
Thunder CX GC68A-B7136 and CX GC79A-B7132
Ideal for high IOPS compute applications in data centers, the 1U dual-socket Thunder CX GC68A-B7136 cloud server is equipped with twelve 2.5-inch drive bays, which support eight NVMe U.2 and four SATA devices. It also features 16 DDR5 DIMM slots, two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, one OCP v3.0 LAN mezzanine slot, and two NVMe M.2 ports.
In addition, the 1U dual-socket Thunder CX GC79A-B7132 is an all-flash cloud server equipped with up to twelve 2.5-inch NVMe U.2 drive bays. It also supports 32 DDR5 DIMM slots, two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, one OCP v3.0 LAN mezzanine slot, and two NVMe M.2 ports. It is designed for workloads that require high amounts of CPU cores and memory like virtualization and in-memory database applications.
