This week at SC19 in Denver, Colorado, TYAN exhibited its HPC, AI, storage and cloud server platforms. As we covered earlier this week, TYAN released several new solutions leveraging AMD EPYC Rome CPUs. The company also announced new solutions based off of the 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors.
TYAN Thunder HX line is for mission-critical workloads and spans from SMBs to hyperscale data centers. TYAN is leveraging 2nd generation Intel Xeon Scalable processors to add even more performance to this line, along with Intel Deep Learning Boost technology and Intel Optane DC persistent memory.
On new devices, TYAN announced the Thunder HX FT83-B7119. This solution comes with CPU-to-GPU bandwidth for various parallel workloads. The Thunder HX FT83-B7119 is a hulking 4U device that has ample room for GPUs (up to 10 double-width PCIe x16 slots) a single-wide x16 networking card, up to 3TB of system RAM, and its front-loading 24 hot-swap, tool-less 3.5” drive bays.
On the smaller side of things, TYAN rolled out the 1U Thunder SX GT90-B7113 dual-socket high-density storage platform supporting twelve 3.5” hot-swap SATA drives (SAS drives are supported by configuration)mounted to a service drawer and four 2.5” hot-swap NVMe U.2 drive bays in a 35” chassis depth. This platform is designed for CSP server-based software-defined storage applications by allowing serviceability and density within the same server.
And TYAN released new entry level servers that leveraging the newer Intel Xeon E-2200 processors. Both of the new servers are 1U with the Thunder CX GT24E-B5556 made for cost-effective cloud gaming applications with support for up to 4 DDR4 DIMM slots, 1 double-width GPU card, and dual 10GBase-T Ethernet ports. The Thunder CX GX38-B5550 supports two 3.5" internal SATA drive bays for edge computing.
