Verbatim is unveiling a number of new products at CES 2010, including its MyMedia Server home network storage solution and SuperSpeed USB 3.0 external storage solutions.
MyMedia Server
MyMedia Server is a home network storage solution designed to help consumers consolidate and preserve all of their content on one device. It is advertised to have a straightforward setup for anyone to handle. Files, music, and other media stored on the server can be shared with all computers on the home network.
MyMedia Server also allows for remote access from any Internet-connected computer. Content can be directly uploaded to the server from a portable hard drive, flash drive, or media card reader. It allows users to backup data with Apple Time Machine and Windows Backup support.
The MyMedia Server features 1TB of capacity and an aluminum casing. It has Gigabit Ethernet, eSATA, and two USB ports. It is expected to be available in March 2010 for $229.99.
SuperSpeed USB 3.0
Verbatim is launching its first USB 3.0 product at CES, an external USB 3.0 hard drive with PCI card adapter. The PCI card adapter adds USB 3.0 support in desktops, to which the USB 3.0 external hard drive is connected for full USB 3.0 data transfer speed. USB 3.0 is up to ten times faster than the current USB 2.0 standard.
The drive will be available in multiple capacities up to 2TB; expect the SuperSpeed USB 3.0 solution to be available in Q1/Q2 2010. Verbatim will also be launching a portable USB 3.0 storage solution in Q2 2010.
