Today at VMworld Europe, VMware Inc. announced two new cloud management solutions as well as updates to their VMware vRealize Suite 6 and VMware vRealize Operations (formally VMware vCenter Operations Management Suite). The new solutions include: VMware vRealize Code Stream, enabling DevOps teams to deliver frequently, reliable software releases; and the beta launch of VMware vRealize Air Compliance, a new cloud management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering. These new solutions finish VMware’s rebranding under the vRealize Family. - Intelligent operations – advanced analytics identifying complex issues from symptoms and making recommendations. Capacity planning that extends beyond VMware vSphere to include physical and application level metrics and capacity models that eliminate false alarms when they are committed to the analytic engine.
- Policy-based automation that has smart alerts with remedy actions and remediation actions that launch automated workflows so admins can resolve issue from single console.
- Unified management with expanded platform support for SDDC and Hybrid Cloud, a unified user interface that manages VMware vSphere and non-vSphere domains) including third-party management packs.

- Real-time log management featuring machine learning, high-performance search, and the ability to troubleshoot across physical, virtual, and cloud environments
- Along with the updates to their current solution, VMware also announce two new solutions:
VMware vRealize Code Stream 1.0 – this new solution will enable continuous delivery solutions for DevOps. Key features include:
- Streamline and automate the software delivery process, extending agility while reducing risks
- Provides governance and visibility across the entire release process through a single dashboard
- Rapidly and reliably push out frequent release
VMware vRealize Air Compliance (Beta) – the industry’s first SaaS compliance service built for SDDC. Key features include:
- Customers can be up and running within minutes of assessing their vSphere environment against a variety of security and regulatory requirements
- Continuous compliance scans enables customers to rapidly address configuration compliance challenges with automated compliance scorecards with real-time information and alerts on non-compliant changes
- Flexibility customers need to enable the security of their on-site and public cloud environments
Availability and pricing
VMware vRealize Air Compliance is now available as a beta; customers and partners can now sign up. Pricing will be announced at general availability. The other solutions are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2014.
- VMware vRealize Suite (all components will be updated) is available in two editions: Advanced at $6,750 per CPU and Enterprise at $9,950 per CPU.
- VMware vRealize Code Stream will be a standalone product priced at $1,250 per Operating system $7,500 per CPU.
- VMware will update VMware vRealize Operations Insight (an add-on to VMware vShere with Operations Management). VMware vRealize Operations Insight is licensed on per-CPU model at $2,000
