Western Digital today introduced its Studio line of external portable hard drives for Mac users. It has an always-on external display and supports FireWire 800. It is available now with 320-640GB of capacity.
The Studio line features a design synonymous with Mac notebooks. The Studio drives have support for USB 2.0 in addition to Firewire 800. The e-label external display is always on and customizable and shows how much storage space is left on the drive. The drives come formatted for Mac computers, are compatible with Apple TimeMachine software, and include WD SmartWare software which supports data backup with 256-bit encryption.
