While Toshiba just announced their 750GB mainstream notebook drive, Western Digital has seen fit to actually start shipping theirs. The 750GB Scorpio Blue is a standard size 2.5" notebook hard drive featuring 375GB per platter areal density and Advanced Format technology.

While Toshiba just announced their 750GB mainstream notebook drive, Western Digital has seen fit to actually start shipping theirs. The 750GB Scorpio Blue is a standard size 2.5" notebook hard drive featuring 375GB per platter areal density and Advanced Format technology.
The Scorpio Blue series also uses a SATA 3 Gb/s interface and features an 8 MB Cache and 5400 RPM drive speed.
Western Digital has also announced a 1TB version of the Scorpio Blue (WD10TPVT), which is expected to ship in the coming months.

WD Scorpio Blue 750 GB (model WD7500BPVT) hard drives are shipping now for a suggested retail price of $149.
