WYSE has also added a new Premium subscription service for $1/month. The subscription service includes a file browser, allowing users to easily search their home computers and transfer to their handhelds. Once the files are transferred, users can print them using Apple AirPrint. The service also includes remote music and video streaming from a home computer.
Tablet Interface
The tablet interface has been revised and now features a split-screen view. A new setup wizard has also been added.
We had a chance to view the service in use at a recent press event and even on the overloaded WiFi network, the demo flowed well. Wyse is an old name in the enterprise computing space, most famously known for their thin client architecture. This new initiative isn’t so different really, more like thin client for the 2010’s.
Availability
Wyse PocketCloud 2.1 is available now for free from the Apple App Store.
