Zerto made several announcements at its annual conference, ZertoCON, regarding further updates, enhancements, and details of its roadmap. Among these announcements include the availability of a term-based licensing option via a subscription model for the Zerto IT Resilience Platform, integration with the VMware VAIO framework, enhancements to long-term repositories, as well as its latest development efforts for Zerto and Microsoft Azure.
Zerto made several announcements at its annual conference, ZertoCON, regarding further updates, enhancements, and details of its roadmap. Among these announcements include the availability of a term-based licensing option via a subscription model for the Zerto IT Resilience Platform, integration with the VMware VAIO framework, enhancements to long-term repositories, as well as its latest development efforts for Zerto and Microsoft Azure.
Each of these announcements comes with several key benefits:
- Zerto IT Resilience Platform: Customers can now purchase Zerto as either perpetual or term-based license, providing more flexibility for companies to decide on what works best for them based on features, efficiency, agility, and their business preference, rather than simply the cost of the product.
- Integration with the VMware VAIO framework:Zerto has now completed the initial certification of its vSphere Installation Bundle (VIB) for VMware’s vSphere APIs for I/O Filtering (VAIO) framework. The integration enables support for Secure Boot for VMware vSphere hosts and creation of Zerto replication policies within VMware’s Storage Policies. This certified VIB will be available to customers with Zerto’s next major release, which is expected to hit the market in H2 of 2019.
- New features and functionality: The new features and functionalities, which will be released with Zerto 7.5, include deeper integration with long-term repositories including the HPE StoreOnce Catalyst API. Additionally, Zerto 7.5 sets its scopes on scale and performance with Azure and AWS, including native integration with Azure scale sets. Resource Planner for predictive sizing for Azure, AWS, or on-premises environments, will be released in Zerto Analytics. This release is also expected to hit the market in in H2 of 2019.
