This card is identical to the other models in the EVO Select lineup; however, it doubles the previous highest capacity and marks Samsung’s first 1TB microSD card—a size previously only available in its SSDs.

Samsung EVO Select 1TB Performance
We tested the Samsung EVO Select 1TB with the bundled Samsung SD adapter via our Lenovo ThinkStation P520 testbed. We compared the results to the most recent Samsung microSD card we reviewed, the PRO Ultimate, and the last EVO card we looked at a few years ago, the EVO Plus.
Although the Samsung EVO Select falls into a lower performance tier than the PRO series microSD cards, we’ve included it in our comparison to evaluate its performance against Samsung’s higher-end models. We also compared it to the older EVO Plus (512GB model), which is nearly identical in performance and specs. It’s worth noting the EVO Select is an Amazon-exclusive rebrand, often priced slightly lower.
In our Blackmagic benchmark test, the Samsung EVO Select 1TB achieved a read speed of 158.9 MB/s and a write speed of 122.3 MB/s, with the read speed exceeding its advertised figures.
In contrast, the previous generation EVO Plus recorded read speeds of 125.4 MB/s and write speeds of 120.8 MB/s. On the other hand, the premium Samsung PRO Ultimate reached a read speed of 193.1 MB/s and a write speed of 129.1 MB/s.

Comparing the Blackmagic disk speed test results, the Samsung EVO Select (1TB) beat the older EVO Plus (512GB) in both read and write speeds, showing that the EVO line has improved. However, it doesn’t match the Samsung PRO Ultimate, highlighting the performance gap between the regular EVO cards and the high-end PRO series, particularly in write activity.
In the IOMeter 1-thread results, the Samsung EVO Select generally outperformed the older EVO Plus across most metrics, reflecting improvements in sequential and random read/write speeds. Specifically, the EVO Select achieved 158.8 MB/s in sequential read and 120.2 MB/s in sequential write, while the EVO Plus lagged with 128.5 MB/s read and 119.3 MB/s write. However, the Samsung PRO Ultimate maintains a clear lead with 191.2 MB/s read and 128.6 MB/s write.
