Veeam Software has announced the general availability of Veeam Availability Orchestrator v2. With the newest release, Veeam brings orchestration and automation feature support to an increased range of applications and VMs, helping organizations with even more operational and disaster recovery and data migration scenarios. These new Orchestrator capabilities allow the Veeam Availability Platform to give users comprehensive disaster recovery, operational recovery and platform migrations. Veeam also launched their “with Veeam” partnership program and announced they’ve topped $1 billion in revenue.

Announced at VeeamON 2019, Orchestrator v2 is now able to automatically test, document and reliably recover entire sites and individual workloads from backups in a completely orchestrated way. Veeam believes that this will significantly lower the total cost of ownership of disaster recovery. Moreover, Veeam has “democratized” disaster recovery, as all types of organizations can achieve comprehensive and compliant disaster recovery for all their applications and data regardless of what type of protection they’ve used.

Other Orchestrator v2 features include:

  • More easily prove — and proactively remediate where necessary — service level agreement (SLA) attainment for internal and external compliance regulations and audits with enhanced reporting and compliance capabilities.
  • Automatically leverage both backup and replica protection data for use cases beyond recovery verification, such as DevOps, patch and upgrade testing, analytics and more.
  • Empower business units, application owners and operations teams with their own secure access to orchestration planning and testing resources through advanced delegation and role-based access control (RBAC).

“with Veeam”

Veeam has formally launched their “with Veeam” program. Veeam has embraced an open ecosystem from the beginning, working with a wide variety of storage, cloud and other partners throughout the enterprise IT stack. The “with Veeam” objective is to partner with enterprise storage vendors to provide customers with secondary storage solutions that combine Veeam software with HCI infrastructure hardware and management stacks. Veeam had previously announced a pair of solutions from this program; ExaGrid Backup with Veeam and Nutanix Mine with Veeam.

The “with Veeam” solutions will come in a variety of configurations depending on the partner and customer need. Customers will be able to purchase a single SKU that includes installed software and right-sized hardware, ordering infrastructure vendors’ price lists, just as they already do. The “with Veeam” program also includes a single point of contact for support.

$1 Billion in Revenues, 350,000 Customers

Also at VeeamON, the company announced new momentum figures. Veeam has exceeded $1 billion in annual bookings, a vision they laid out a number of years ago. The customer count growth is of course a key driver here, Veaam is adding more than 4,000 customers a month, and has topped the 350,000 customer count.

Availability

Veeam Availability Orchestrator v2 is now available. “with Veeam” solutions are already available from Nutanix and ExaGrid, with more on the way.
